How to Download Fonts Into InDesign
InDesign is a powerful software package which allows you to design creative documents, brochures and books, in which you can use your own choice of fonts.
Steps to Adding Fonts to InDesign
- Step 1: Obtain the font you’d like to use. You can search for free fonts online or purchase a font from a font retailer.
- Step 2: Install the font on your system. Double-click on the font file (.OTF, .TTF, etc). to open the font installer, which will guide you through the installation process.
- Step 3: Close all of your InDesign windows and then restart the application.
- Step 4: Use the font in your InDesign document. Most fonts appear in the font list of the InDesign Character panel. Once your document is open, simply select the font, type in your chosen text, and you’re done.
Once you have installed the font, it will be available in your list of fonts and you can use it in any of your InDesign documents. Keep in mind that the font will only be available if the computer is connected to the network that hosts the font.
